Erwin Redl’s FADE, Denver was designed for MCA DENVER’s temporary | contemporary and is part of the artist’s FADE series, which has been shown in Munich, Germany and Lille, France. In Denver it was installed for the first time as an ellipse which completely envelops the viewer in light and color upon entering the exhibition space. Redl belongs to a new, internationally significant generation of artists who deploy light as a medium. FADE, Denver, as with Redl’s other work, employed his knowledge of multiple fields – ranging from computer art, musical composition, and electronic music – to develop a work that engaged and disoriented perception while immersing visitors in a singular aesthetic experience.
